Watching this video on Youtube got me thinking. What if those child preachers applied all of their religious zeal to something other than standing outside of abortion clinics? What if they were zealous about making authentic christian disco bangers instead? Would it give me something to believe in? What would it sound like? I think it would sound like Keedz:

Just a quick post on a song that I didn't think much of at first, but now have on repeat.

Confusion!
I think I might actually be the only person who is both a fan of Joy Division and New Order that actually prefers the latter.
I know, I know, without Joy Division New Order couldn't exist, but I don't think with Ian Curtis at the helm Joy division would have pushed the envelope as far as New Order did.
I'm not insulting Ian Curtis, his lyrics and what he brought Joy Division are just much darker than anything the rest of the band did as New Order.
And yes, I prefer New Order's version of Ceremony too!
Anyways, this version of Confusion is my favorite. It's from Substance and the slap bass is "banging".

Breakbot
Never really paid much attention to Breakbot till tonight. After being without the internet for a week I totally binged and spent hours trying to get caught up on all the music I'd missed out on. None of this is new, but it's kind of new to me.
The Sebastian Tellier remix is kind of electro pop. I guess that's because he is, no? Isn't he the soundtrack of American Apparel? Not sure, have been too affraid to set foot in there for a while. I told myself the next time I go in I will apply and I've never gone back. I don't think I can take the rejection.
I only had a couple Yuksek mp3s on my computer prior to hearing this remix and I already like this remix better than anything I'd heard by them before.
Check it.
Let There Be Light.
Really learned something about myself.
It was a great test of human endurance against the elements of internetless life.
Going to post an mp3 later tonight...

One Day Left/ Kill The Noise
Something new from Kill The Noise. Hasn't found its way onto the Hype Machine yet.

Two Days Left
In two days time I will be without a computer for an indefinite period of time.
Not sure what's going to happen.
I might sieze to exist.
Worse yet, noone is even reading this.
That being said, these are like the disco death froes of my dieing blog.
The ONLY thing I am not sure about (other than the whole not having a PC for a while thing) is the vocal sample in this song. It kind of irks me. But everything else is so good I can overlook it.
Anyways, on with it.

I Make No Excuses For Posting U2.
Okay, maybe I do.
But it is a really "banging" remix.
The other track is from this group (dj?) who go by the name Capture. If you like Justice you will probably like the track.

Sweet, Sweet Disco
Here are a couple of selections from Glass Candy's Beatbox.
Generally I deteste the label of disco punk because it's most often, well, crap.
Glass Candy are an exception.
I read that they don't use any computers, just simple analog record techniques. Makes it more "authentic" I guess. Definately tagging this as "authentic disco" because of that.

Post Birthday Post
My birthday has come and gone. The night was basically spent getting "hammied" off of Sola Nero and listening to Aeroplane. Could've been worse.
I'm actually obsessed with Aeroplane at the moment. I know I've kind of missed the boat on this one, but I couldn't resist making a post about them. Whispers takes a while to pick up, but when it does it really does. Disco bliss.

B(side)IRTHDAY
It's my birthday.
Still in my jockeys.
Too lazy to post a birthday playlist comprised of introspective "indie rokker" songs about getting older/celebrating, so I leave you with this.

Pretty Young Thang
Made a mix for the stylists and models at the Ryerson fashion show to listen to in the dressing room. Don't think they even listened to it. Maybe it's because I put a Police remix on it. Is that tacky?
Ruby Isle - So Damn High (Will Eastman Remix)
