Ugh.

My Divshare account is down. Uploads get stuck at 1%. Ugh.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I don't like buzz bands. Seriously. This might seem like a strange statement coming from someone who often posts songs that have found their way onto the hype machine, but allow me to elaborate. I dont like Pheonix. I don't like Papercuts. I don't like Little Boots, Wilco, Andrew Bird, or many other of the "most blogged about" artists. Grizzly Bear are an exception. I really like the lo fi keyboard sound on this song which was completely missing from Fred Falke's remix which I heard prior to the original. The remix sounded like a bad Killers remix, so I sort of avoided Grizzly Band for even longer. Glad I finally caved.

New Knightlife

I was going to make a post on La Roux today until I noticed that the new Knightlife single made it's way to the blogging masses. One day after I posted a Cut Copy song I return to present a song by label mate Knightlife. The song itself really isn't that great, but it reminds me so much of the old MSTRKRFT song "easy love" (which still I loveto this day) that I almost feel obliged to like it. Seriously, the production and overall feel of the two songs are pretty similar to me. I hear when Knightlife came to Toronto recently he didn't get much appreciation. Shame.

Far Away

One of my favorite songs over the past year was definately Cut Copy's "Far Away". I don't really listen to it that much any more, but it has earned it's place on my Ipods "Top 25 Most Played" indefinately. Seriously, the songs below it arn't even close in the play count. That being said, this is why I love remixes so much. Thanks to the Bag Raiders, I have a totally different version of Far Away to play to death. Love.

HYPEM

On my little 8 GB black Ipod Nano I have this playlist simply titled "hypem" and it's basically comprised of all the great songs I find on the "hypem". And until I actually get this blog onto the "hypem" I'm gonna keep posting songs from that playlist. Here's one of them.

More of the Same.

I know I already posted an mp3 from Lamb's Anger less than a month ago or so, but the album is so amazing. At first I didn't think so, but then that's always the sign of a great album, aint it?

I'll Never Know

I just downloaded some of the Kitsune compilations and found alot of great stuff. For some reason I had put off getting them. I guess I figured I had already heard most of the artists. Here's something I hadn't heard before.

Boss Sounds

It's time to take a step back from the blog house and remember the first dance music I really fell in love with. When I was 18 I listened almost exclusively to vintage reggae and ska for over a year. Times have changed and I've been introduced to whole new worlds of music since then, but I still really appreciate the stuff. I really do believe I appreciate it for the same reasons I appreciate disco. They really arn't that different at all if you think about it. I'd get into it more, but I'm tired.
Anyways, my friend Isaac and I might be doing a '69 reggae night sometime soon, so here are a couple of somewhat rare cuts from the era that I'm really into. The kind of stuff you can expect to here if we ever do get that night together.

You Say "Wazo", I Say "O-Haz-O"

Still not really sure how to pronounce his name. I heard some bro adress him as "Mr. Wazo" in an interview without any objection, but he was a bro, and "Wazo" didn't say much the whole time anyway. The French lady on his tracks always says "O-haz-o" so I'm gonna go with that. I mean, I'm no French lady, but she seems like she knows what she is talking about.
That being said, said this my favorite track from Lamb's Anger. It will either annoy you, or you will love it.

Whaaaaaa

It's the 6th and my uploaded files on Divshare have yet to be removed. Hmmm. Want to post more mp3s, but I think I have to wait another day. Sit tight.
I say that because I've been told some people do actually read this.
It was news to me.
I think I prefer writing to noone though.
No words are wasted.

No, I Created Disco.

I think this will be my last post till May 6th.
This is because:
"You are a Free DivShare member.Your downloads renew on May 6, 2009. "
No use posting something after this as it will just be taken down in a few days.
Anyways, I've been really into Calvin Harris lately, even though that's "so 2008".
2008 was a good year (for music).
So into him that I changed my email to icreateddisco@live.ca .
I needed a new one anyway...

Farewell 150 Maplehurst

It was the end of an era last night. My girlfriend is set to move back home to Barrie after her 9 month lease has run its course. Ah, all those bottles of wine downed, neighbors enraged by electro at 4 am... the good times. All that remains are a couple of low quality cell phone pictures. And a song by Munk which I have some how related to all of this. Check it.
